Summary
Under the direction of the Director of Facilities Management, complete the lawn mowing, trimming, and landscaping at all County properties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily and in a timely manner. The following duties are normal for this position:
- Operate lawnmowers, trimmers, and other equipment used for lawn maintenance and landscaping in a safe manner.
- Work under supervision and follow directions effectively.
- Display initiative, critical thinking, and exercise good judgment while assuming responsibility for assigned tasks.
- Monitor activities in and around work areas to prevent injuries and ensure site safety.
- Identify issues and adapt to changing work priorities and interruptions.
Qualifications

Education and/or Experience
- Must be at least 16 years of age.
- Experience operating lawn equipment, small power tools, trucks, and trailers is preferred.
- Small engine or mechanical skills for minor repairs on lawn equipment are a plus.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to work in a pleasant manner with others and maintain a positive image of Langlade County.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to obey all safety rules and regulations.
- Perform general landscape tasks including weeding, planting, and establishing trees, shrubs, and beds.
- Remove broken or falling branches after storms.
- Assist with the set up, take down, and movement of materials for events in county facilities.
- Ability to apply paint products and use different styles of ladders.
Technological Skills
This position requires basic computer skills.

The employee regularly works in outside weather conditions and occasionally works near moving mechanical parts. Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and vibration may occur. The noise level ranges from quiet to moderately loud.
