RURAL ADDRESSING IN LANGLADE COUNTY
The Land Records & Regulations Department is responsible for the issuance of new rural addresses as well as maintaining the addressing system in all municipalities within Langlade County, except the City of Antigo and the Village of White Lake.
The address numbering system is based on a grid with the lowest numbers beginning in the southeast corner of the County. Rural numbers increase going in either a northerly ("N" numbers) or westerly ("W" numbers) direction.
ISSUING PROCESS:
- To request a rural address, the applicant (landowner) must fill out and submit a completed Rural Address Application form along with an administrative fee to the Langlade County Land Records & Regulations Department.
- The completed Rural Address Application is then reviewed by department staff. Please note that rural address's are issued to properties with buildings or to properties where a building is proposed to be located.
- Once the rural address has been issued, copies of the form are sent to the Langlade County Sheriff's Department for the 911 system, the local Fire Department, and to the municipality where the number was issued.
POSTING A RURAL ADDRESS
- The municipality (e.g. Town) is responsible for placing the actual sign at the site. Applicants are responsible for contacting the local Post Office as well as any other personal contacts.
