A Sanitation Permit is required when building a new residence or installing/ updating a POWTS (Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment System)Typically, this is taken care of by your licensed plumber.

Under the authority granted Langlade County from §59.70(1), 59.70(5), 145.04, 145.19, 145.20, 145.245 Wisconsin Statutes, the Langlade County Land Records & Regulations Department inspects and requires evaluations and reporting on all Private Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems (POWTS) within the county. These authorities are in effect even in unzoned towns, where other county rules may not be in effect.
