GIS LIDAR Tips and Countours

There are two easy ways to access LIDAR related data.  One is this LIDAR Online Portal for elevation modeling and various 3D applications.   The other shown below with tips how to access it is on our main GIS web portal https://langladecowi.wgxtreme.com/.

LIDAR Online app:
Langlade County LIDAR App

Contours are available to the public through our GIS website.  These have been produced from the LIDAR data so they have improved accuracy.  These are hosted at http://langladecowi.wgxtreme.com/.

Once there click on the Advanced Tab on top, a layer appears on the far left window of layers.

This image shows a highlighted layer section which displays elevation data. LIDAR is a type of imagery based on a cloud of points instead of a 2D x and y coordinate there are millions of dots allowing for other types of work to be done. This Elevation Layer will allow you to click on one of the contour types.  5 Foot for most things or if you zoom in quite close the 1 foot contours.
Below is an example of a 5 foot contour image with the aerial image for 2015 turned on in the background.  You can see some of the numbers listed at 1650 feet and so forth.  That was done using the highlighted 5 foot contour button on the far left side in Elevation Layers.
A Langlade County image showing both an aerial photo and some 5 foot contours relating to that imagery.

We do have some others tools and downloads available in the Maps n Apps section of the County website.
