The Corporation Counsel serves as the attorney and legal advisor for Langlade County government, a municipal corporation and political subdivision of the State of Wisconsin. Consistent with the standards of professional conduct for government lawyers, the Corporation Counsel provides legal services as required by State Statutes and/or as directed by the Langlade County Board of Supervisors. As directed by the County Board, the Corporation Counsel provides legal services to its committees, departments, employees and elected officials; and with respect to certain specific types of legal proceedings as mandated by state law, represents the State of Wisconsin, the interests of the public, and provides legal assistance to the Langlade County Circuit Court as an officer of the Court. The Corporation Counsel represents the County in all civil, administrative or regulatory proceedings in which the County has an interest.
When designated to act as the Administrative Coordinator, the Administrative Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all administrative and management functions of the county government not otherwise vested by law in boards or commissions, or in other elected officers.
