Langlade County Health Department: Services Available to You and Your Family

This month we are highlighting some of the services provided by the Langlade County Health Department. Please call the Health Department at 715-627-6250 with any questions.
Adult Services
Cardiovascular Disease Prevention - Blood Pressure Clinics are held every 1st Wednesday of the month from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. A nurse will monitor your blood pressure and make necessary referrals.
Immunizations -Immunization clinics are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No appointments are needed. Please bring your insurance cards with you when you come. We provide tetanus for free to all individuals.
Human Health Hazards – The health department is mandated by the state to follow up on any health hazard complaints about residential homes in Langlade County. These hazards include mold, garbage, noxious odors, insect/pest infestation, water/heat/septic issues, hoarding, structural concerns, etc.
Radon testing – Radon test kits are available for $10.
TB testing – TB skin testing is available for $15.
Child Services
Childhood Immunizations - Immunization clinics are held on the fourth Wednesday of each month from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. No appointments are needed. Our Vaccines For Children are free to individuals 2 mo – 18 years of age with MA/Badgercare or no insurance. For private insurance, please visit your physician.
Car Seat Program -Kids TravelSafe Inc. is a local coalition supported by members of the community. Car seat checks are provided free on the second Wednesday of each month from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the City of Antigo Fire Department, 700 Edison Street.
Child Health Screening - Child Health Screenings are completed by a Public Health Nurse and are accepted for Day Care and Kindergarten entry.  Individuals must call to make an appointment for the one hour physical, which includes the physical exam, hearing, vision, growth and development, nutrition assessment, and immunizations if necessary.
Diaper Bank - Langlade County Area Diaper Bank was established in 2015 to be a resource for families in our community to ensure that they have an adequate supply of diapers in times of need. We offer disposable and cloth diapers to families that are experiencing emergency or crisis situations.
Lead Screening - Lead screening is available by appointment for children 1-5 years of age.  Results are received within 1-2 weeks and based on the result, a Public Health Nurse will contact you with further information.
