Emergency Dispatcher - Ongoing - Answer 911 emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate police, fire, medical or other emergency units. Works directly with law enforcement and fire/EMS personnel following their policy and procedures.  Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

Sheriff Deputy - Ongoing - Perform all law enforcement duties. Enforce state and local laws/ordinances. Have the ability to communicate effectively, conduct investigations, write reports, respond to emergencies, enforce traffic laws and conduct/investigate traffic accidents.  Langlade County reserves the right to hold applications until the time is appropriate to move forward with the interview process, which is dependent upon Department needs.  Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

Social Worker Aide - Langlade County Social Services Department is seeking a Social Services Aide who works directly with clients and Children and Family Services case managers.  This position will require the ability to work individually and with small groups of clients on tasks including but not limited to; money management, parenting skills, personal hygiene, nutrition, housing, safety services, and supervising family interactions.

Corrections Officer - Ongoing Recruitment - Under the immediate supervision of the Jail Lieutenant and works directly with the prisoners under the requirements of the State Statutes and Policy and Procedures provided by the department.  The Langlade County Jail is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The corrections officer(s) on duty is responsible for several duties during various shift schedules. They shall at all times maintain a clean, neat and proper uniform and appearance.  Maintain the Department Headquarters and all Department equipment in a clean, neat manner, keeping it presentable to the public at all times.  They shall further keep all squad cars used by them in a state of readiness and in a clean and presentable condition.  They shall perform such other tasks or duties as they are requested, assigned and needed.  Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

Highway Worker - Limited Term - Applications will be accepted for Limited Term Employee Highway Worker.  Work to include, but not limited to, flagging, general cleaning, assist crews in house and on the road and other duties that may be assigned.

Summer Maintenance Limited Term Employee - Work includes lawn mowing, trimming, landscaping, minor repairs and maintenance of equipment, other duties that may be assigned. 
 
Qualifications:    Knowledge of mowers, power equipment and vehicles. 
Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License.
Ability to operate lawn mowers, trimmers and other equipment used for landscaping in a safe manner. 
Ability to perform equipment maintenance such as oil changes, blade changes, etc.
Qualified candidate will have to pass a Criminal Background Check and Drug Test.
 
Tentative employment dates:  Approximately May 1 - September 20 or as agreed to. 
Approximately 20-30 hours / week - Wage to be determined.

Shoreland Specialist - The Shoreland Specialist is responsible for implementing the Lake Shoreland and Shallows Habitat Monitoring Field Protocol as outlined in Langlade County's Lake Classification Grant awarded by the WI DNR, assisting with the preparation of shoreland restoration plans and related activities, developing informational and educational materials, and providing education and assistance on shoreland health practices to members of the public, shoreland property owners, and waterways groups. This one year, grant funded position has the potential to be extended to two years, based on securing of additional grant funds. The position is funded by Langlade County's Lake Classification Grant as awarded by the WI DNR. Wage: $20/hr - $21/hr depending upon qualifications.

Forestry Summer Help - The Langlade County Forestry and Recreation Department will be accepting job applications for summer employment at Veteran’s Memorial Park and maintaining Langlade County waysides.   The position(s) would be approximately 24-40 hours per week (nights and weekends may be required).   The rate of pay is $9.00 per hour.   Preference will be given to applicants who plan on attending college in the fall.    Applicant need not be attending college for these positions, but must be 16 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license.
