Emergency Dispatcher - Ongoing - Answer 911 emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate police, fire, medical or other emergency units. Works directly with law enforcement and fire/EMS personnel following their policy and procedures.  Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

Sheriff Deputy - Ongoing - Perform all law enforcement duties. Enforce state and local laws/ordinances. Have the ability to communicate effectively, conduct investigations, write reports, respond to emergencies, enforce traffic laws and conduct/investigate traffic accidents.  Langlade County reserves the right to hold applications until the time is appropriate to move forward with the interview process, which is dependent upon Department needs.  Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

Corrections Officer - Ongoing Recruitment - Under the immediate supervision of the Jail Lieutenant and works directly with the prisoners under the requirements of the State Statutes and Policy and Procedures provided by the department.  The Langlade County Jail is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  The corrections officer(s) on duty is responsible for several duties during various shift schedules. They shall at all times maintain a clean, neat and proper uniform and appearance.  Maintain the Department Headquarters and all Department equipment in a clean, neat manner, keeping it presentable to the public at all times.  They shall further keep all squad cars used by them in a state of readiness and in a clean and presentable condition.  They shall perform such other tasks or duties as they are requested, assigned and needed.  Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.

Maintenance Building Worker - Langlade County Maintenance Department is seeking a Maintenance Building Worker.  Job responsibilities include:  maintaining electrical systems; installing computer cable and underground wiring; maintaining fairgrounds phone system and PA system.  Ability to use and understand Direct Digital Controls (HVAC Controls) system.  Knowledge of hot water boiler and pumps.  Ability to read and interpret blueprints.  Must be able to work on scissor lift up to 35' above ground.  Also, plow snow, use pick-up truck with V-plow and ATV with plow, and Salter.

Shop Superintendent - Langlade County is recruiting for a full-time Shop Superintendent position in the Highway Department.  The Shop Superintendent is responsible for the Department’s equipment programs, including: insuring that all County-owned facilities and equipment are in satisfactory an safe operating condition;  supervising employees in performing maintenance and repairs on equipment; overseeing the management of the Part room including purchasing part, setting inventory levels, determining need for contracted or outside services;  and managing the Fuel System including ordering fuel and coordinating the dispensing and delivery of fuels.
